Data Minimization
The principle of sharing and storing the least personal data necessary β the data you never give out cannot be leaked, sold, or stolen.
Data minimisation means collecting, sharing, and retaining only what a task genuinely requires. Use aliases, decline optional fields, and prune old accounts and files you no longer need.
Why it matters: every reduction shrinks your risk surface and your value to data brokers. It is the cheapest privacy upgrade available because it costs nothing and prevents harm before it can happen.
