Remote-Work Security

The practice of securing devices, networks, and accounts used for work outside a traditional, IT-managed office environment.

Remote-work security covers the gap that opens when work happens on home networks, personal devices, and public Wi-Fi instead of behind a managed office perimeter — things like device encryption, a VPN on untrusted networks, and separating work and personal accounts.

Why it matters: a home network or coffee-shop Wi-Fi typically has none of the protections an office network has by default. Applying the same risk signal-model thinking used for personal privacy closes most of that gap.
